M Productions Bio

In the month of November, 2006, Michael Miller started a music production company in the small, central Indiana town of Cicero. With just basic studio equipment, a couple of microphones, and a laptop, M Productions was born.

Though Michael's main musical interests were in Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop, he recorded local alternative and rock bands from his High School. The bands would come in, record demos of their material, pay a small fee, and leave. Mind you, only a couple of bands came to M Productions to record at the time, but it was a start.

Although Michael enjoyed going out and finding new bands to record at "M Pro", a nickname given to M Productions by Michael and his clients, he wanted to get into R&B and Hip Hop production. He decided to start taking production lessons at a music school in Indianapolis named Bongo Boy Music School and became a student of well known drummer and owner of Bongo Boy, Ed Gauss. Here Michael was able to gain real knowledge of not only R&B / Hip Hop production but also techniques used to record live instrumentation. He also studied Music Composition, Club DJ'ing, and Music Production at one of the nations top arts schools, Columbia College Chicago. He took these skills back to the M Productions studio and actively put them into use.

During the time Michael was attending the music school, he was blessed with the money to upgrade the M Productions studio. He did so in October of 2007 with a $15,000 upgrade and a new recording / sound room. M Productions was now operating at a new level. After the upgrade, the M Productions clientele grew by leaps and bounds. M Productions was now becoming a production hub for local Rap, Hip Hop, and R&B talent.

Michael continued to work on creating music beds, or beats, to sell online, but he knew that sometimes it's who you know more then what you know. He knew that if he wanted to take M Productions to the next level he had to network and make these connections himself. He did so by not only using the Internet and passing out M Productions business cards, but also coming in contact with various music celebrities including super producer Pharrell Williams in March of 2008, who he now stays in contact and meets up with on occasion.

M Productions is now becoming one of the top studios in the Indianapolis area. With top of the line equipment and a desire for perfection, M Productions and Michael Miller will soon be a force to be dealt with in the music world.
